On Thursday, state tourism officials will join local representatives at the Chattanooga Visitor's Center Downtown to cut the ribbon on the Pie in the Sky Trail. The Pie in the Sky Trial begins and ends in the Scenic City and will take travelers on a scenic tour of southeast Tennessee. Tennessee is creating 16 Discover Tennessee Trials and Byways that will highlight all the hidden gems the Volunteer State has to offer. The Pie in the Sky Trail traverses Tennessee's southeast corner and provides access to not only some of the state's most intriguing history but to some of its most otherworldly attractions, both natural and manmade. The trail begins in downtown Chattanooga at the Tennessee Aquarium, where you can experience creatures under the sea or take a tour of 26 scenic miles of the adjacent Tennessee River aboard the River Gorge Explorer. Next, head to the Creative Discovery Museum for hands-on play or see the finest collection of American art in the southeast at the Hunter Museum of American Art. And before you leave town, be certain to visit the world-renowned cavern cascade of Ruby Falls and see the views from Rock City Gardens.
